APPLIED PHYSICS LAB

The Applied Physics Lab for Electrical Engineering provides a practical learning environment for students to understand the principles of physics and their direct application in electrical engineering. The lab is equipped with state-of-the-art experimental setups and instruments, focusing on Electricity and Magnetism as well as Mechanics.

Students will gain proficiency in using and calibrating a variety of precision instruments such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, and screw gauges, enhancing their measurement skills. They will explore fundamental concepts like Newton's laws of motion, coefficient of static and kinetic friction, and the calculation of object acceleration using a ticker tape timer. Furthermore, the lab offers hands-on experiments related to important laws such as Ampere's Law, Lenz's Law, and Fleming's Law, with practical applications in electrical engineering. Topics covered include the measurement of magnetic field strength in solenoids, capacitor charging and discharging, relay operation, and the conversion of a galvanometer into an ammeter, voltmeter, and ohmmeter.Through active engagement in the lab, students will develop a solid foundation in physics principles and their real-world implications for electrical engineering. They will also cultivate essential skills in experimental design, data analysis, and effective report writing, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter.
